Abstract

When analyzing data from functional magnetic resonance imaging, different mathematical models are used. This article briefly describes the most important ones – starting with the so-called balloon model describing the hemodynamic response during brain activity, the General Linear Model widely used for functional localization of brain areas involved with certain stimuli, and Dynamic Causal Modelling as a framework for investigating dynamic brain connectivity models.
